When you’re dancing West Coast Swing, the music you choose changes how your dance feels!
Blues phrasing often stretches across 48 beats giving you that smooth, sultry, drawn-out feel where you can melt into the music.
Pop phrasing, on the other hand, is usually 32 beats shorter, snappier, and perfect for playful hits and tricks.
Learning to hear and dance with phrasing is like unlocking a secret language between you, your partner, and the music it’s what turns steps into storytelling. And in this workshop, we’ll help you unlock that language with Blues.

4:00 – 5:30 pm Main workshop: WCS ↔ Blues integration
5:30 pm Group dinner (venue shared after registration)
7:30 pm Bonus workshop (free with your dance entry)
8:00 pm onward Dance Party (all styles welcome, with emphasis on WCS & Blues)
Bring your dancing shoes, your musical ears (or willingness to listen), and an open mind.
Even if you’re coming from outside the Shire, bring a friend or make new ones here it’s all bundled, so the drive is worth it.
